"Cypress" is a coniferous tree belonging to the Cupressaceae family and the Chamaecyparis genus, scientifically known as Chamaecyparis obtusa. It is considered to be of high quality as a building material, easy to work with, dense and stable without warping, boasting stable strength for a conifer. The heartwood has strong properties against water and termites.
